"Resolutions are like headaches. You forget about them as soon as they stop hurting"

Almost the beginning of a brand new year, the ideal moment to make good resolutions and start with a clean slate! Less unhealthy habits, more exercise and lots of water to drink every day. Also more laughter, more friends and enjoying every moment more. That all sounds very properly. But let's not forget our fashion resolutions for 2013!

  1. Time for change
Change of look is life. Brighten up your wardrobe and experiment with color. Get a new haircut or try a new trend.
  2. Sales items
Buy classics and basics. Because if you buy trendy trendy pieces they are already or almost out of fashion. Think about the future and look for a nice jacket, well fitting jeans and decent boots. If you are looking for something for a special occasion or if your wardrobe is missing that one special piece, go take a look at the more expensive shops. Who knows they still have it in your size! That way you also have a piece of very good quality.
  3. Have a big cleanup in your wardrobe
Count half a day to get this done. The stuff you almost never wear can make room for new items. So away with it, please. But be carefull with buying new items; Why spend money on impulse purchases that you never wear or that don't match other clothes? Think before you go shopping carefully on how much you are willing to spend, what kind of items you need , which trend of the season you want to follow and which one not (in order to avoid bad buys). Below you can find a short movie of Allison McNamara and Beth Zeigler, they show you how to handle that cleanup and give you a lot of useful advice!

Tested and Approved; ASPEN BOCADERO

Last week I went to Aspen Bocadero to meet my best friends after a long time of missing each other! This bar is a new concept and the winter version of Bocadero. This time it was like entering a chalet in the mountains instead of hanging out on the beach. The interior design is very cosy and homy with soft, warm light. I really felt comfortable there!

You can find the bar at Waagnatie Antwerp untill January 13th, because afterwards it will close to prepare for 'beachy' Bocadero in summer!

Opening hours and more info is available here

Enjoy!

Gifts I Got

So my sister gave me a voucher to get myself manicured/pedicured/massaged,.... which I am so going to use when I'm definitely back from Salamanca! I literally will need a beauty break after exams and so much packing.

My grandmother got me the most beautiful earrings (of which I am already very fond of) of jewelery designers De Bakker en Vaes

Furthermore I received a lovely watch, pretty handmade dinnerware, a cozy blanket to survive lazy sundays and cold evenings, a teapot, and lots lots more.. Around new year we're doing a new round of gifts ;)

What did you get?

DIY; Create glitter shoes

No matter what kind of plans you have for the holidays, add some glitter shoes to your outfit. With the current trend of glitter, studs and everything shiny these shoes won't make you look overdressed. Depending on how hard you want to shine, add some other shiny accesories.

Below you can find a tutorial of Allison McNamara and Liza Kaplan on how to transform your ordinary pumps in the most extravagant pair of shoes ever.

Enjoy!
