Don't wait for a second chance to make a first impression.

With some people, doing a job interview is a spontaneous matter.

But even of you're not gifted, here are 6 tips and tricks that will already give you a head start.

A good first impression starts with confidence.

  1. Be on time. Being late is a bad start. Nobody likes it when the first thing you do is apologizing or making up excuses why you're late.
  2. When shaking hands, makes sure it's firm and confident. Introduce yourself right away.
  3. Make eye contact. Non-verbal communication is often understimated, but it is of great importance. Eye contact exudes self-confidence. It leaves an impression and people will be more likely to remember you. (Even if you don't have the job, it's important when expanding your network!)
  4. Enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward your new job, and especially your employees, are crucial.
  5. Speak clearly. But remember also to listen verrrry carefully.
  6. Stand up straight. It makes you look pride but not in an obvious way, like you have all your wonderful skills to offer without bragging about it.
With both your job interview and your first day at a new job, make sure you wear clothes that look professional and classy but you feel comfortable wearing them. Nothing as tricky as wearing beautiful heels which you actually can't walk on properly, for example.

Do not be afraid to ask questions, it's better than messing up. And it's normal because obviously you're..eumh, like...new!

Now go make an unforgettable first impression!

xoxo, A.
